John Mason International’s 140-Year Milestone: Pledging 140 Items Monthly to The Trussell Trust

Celebrating 140 years of excellence in the moving industry, John Mason International has embarked on a special initiative as part of their partnership with The Trussell Trust. Demonstrating their commitment to social responsibility, the company has made a noteworthy pledge: to donate an additional 140 items each month to their local food bank, aligning this charitable act with their 140th-anniversary celebration. This ambitious goal underscores the company’s dedication to making a tangible impact in communities and commemorates their long-standing success by giving back.

Since 2016, John Mason International and The Trussell Trust have worked together in a synergistic partnership, aiming to alleviate food insecurity among families in crisis in the UK. This collaboration has been a testament to John Mason International’s commitment to social causes, and the pledge to donate 140 items monthly is a remarkable escalation of their efforts.

The initiative addresses a critical issue: the wastage of food due to stringent international shipping regulations, which often compels individuals moving overseas to simply discard substantial amounts of food. John Mason International offers a sustainable and socially beneficial alternative by encouraging customers to donate these items. On moving day, customers can simply inform the John Mason International packing crew of any food items they wish to donate. These items are then collected and delivered to The Trussell Trust’s network of food banks.

The items in demand, suitable for donation, encompass a wide range of non-perishable food products. While specific needs may vary, generally needed items include:

– UHT milk
– Tinned meat (hotdogs, meatballs, etc.)
– Tinned fish
– Tinned fruit
– Sponge/rice puddings
– Coffee (small jars)
– Long-life juice
– Pasta sauce
– Tinned vegetables (potatoes, carrots, green beans, tomatoes)
– Tinned meals (spaghetti, chicken or vegetable curries, chilli)
– Tinned soup
– Jam and spreads

The Trussell Trust, renowned for its extensive network of over 400 food banks, provides emergency food supplies and support to people in crisis. The contributions from John Mason International help play a vital role in supporting these efforts.

This pledge of donating 140 items monthly is not just a charitable act but a reflection of John Mason International’s ethos and its integration of corporate social responsibility into its core business strategy. As the company commemorates its 140th anniversary, this initiative stands as a symbol of their longevity and commitment to making a positive difference in society.

For more information on how to participate or contribute, customers are encouraged to speak with their Move Manager or surveyor at John Mason International.
