NASA’s aim to send humans to the red planet by 2030 last week received a massive boost when President Trump signed into law bill S.442, authorising an additional $20 billion to their budget. The new bill also authorises NASA to direct test human spaceflight programmes that will enable more crewed exploration in deep space.
According to NASA’s experts, sending people to live on the red planet, which lies on average some 140 million miles (225 million kilometres) away from Earth, will take immense technological advances and investment, but last week’s announcement from the White House has lit the touchpaper for this great endeavour.
Simon continues: “Traditionally our mission has always been helping people make their new space feel like home, and this extraordinary extra-terrestrial event is proof that the final frontier in interplanetary removals has been breached. John Mason International will leave no route unexplored in its ambition to support NASA on the first crewed mission to Mars, touching down in 2023.
