Safe and Secure Motorbike Shipping Services
We can ship your motorbike with your household goods consignment or separately. We will build a made to measure crate at our in-house crating workshop and strap down the wheels securely in the crate to provide maximum protection for your motorbike whilst in transit.
During the pre-move survey, the surveyor will take the measurements for your motorbike so that we can work out the correct volume to include in your shipment. Alternatively, your motorbike can be shipped in our shared container service or as an LCL shipment (Less than Container Load). You can also call or e-mail us with your motorcycle measurements and details of the model for an instant quote.
Motorcyle Crating
The made-to-measure frame is built around the motorbike, fully encasing it for maximum protection.
The wheels are then locked into position using a purpose built wooden framework and then strapped down securely to ensure there is no movement during transit. This is illustrated in the photographs below:
Customs Requirements for Motorcycle Shipping
In most cases, you will require an import permit to ship your motorbike. Customs regulations vary according to the country, contact us for advice and information relating to your specific destination country.
Motorcycle Shipping Storage
We can also provide safe and secure storage for your motorbike in the UK (at our Liverpool and London depots) or at destination. We can include storage rates in our quotation for you upon request.
Insurance
In addition, John Mason International can insure your motorbike for shipping.
Preparing Your Motorbike for Shipment
Please note that the motorbike has to be empty of fuel and the battery disconnected in order to comply with new International Maritime regulations.
We also recommend that the motorbike is thoroughly cleaned prior to shipment.
