Upper Kedron

To the north west of Brisbane, Kedron is a great choice for families with excellent schools and plenty of pretty parks. The green streets lined with traditional ‘Queenslander’ style houses are safe, affordable and friendly.

Mount Gravatt

The southern suburb of Mount Gravatt offers quiet suburbia within a stone’s throw of both the bustling city and beautifully rugged countryside. It also boasts a great choice of restaurants and shops.

Transport / Getting Around in Brisbane

Brisbane has a fast and simple system of state run public transport. Queensland Rail provides links from many of the major suburbs and there is an electric train network serving the city centre. There is also the CityCat ferry service operating several routes across the river and a safe, reliable bus service. Brisbane also has Australia’s first citywide cycle hire service, CityCycle, which allows users to pick up and drop off bicycles from 150 designated points across the city.

Leisure Activities and Things to Do in Brisbane

Brisbane’s Parklands is a green oasis in the middle of the city. Centred on the pristine lagoon, it’s the perfect spot to stroll, swim, shop or dine in stunning surroundings. A river cruise is the perfect way to see the city with traditional paddle steamers and speedy rib boats crisscrossing the water. For the more adventurous the Riverlife Adventure Centre offers several exhilarating activities including kayaking, rock climbing and paddle boarding.

Brisbane is surrounded by beautiful scenery well worth exploring. Head north to see the sights of the Sunshine Coast, including the stunning Moreton Island. To the east, there is Brisbane Botanic Gardens and the Mount Coot-tha lookout which boasts the breath taking views of the city.  South of city there is the famous Gold Coast, a haven for surfers and packed with thrilling theme parks.
