Argentina: Customs Information

General Requirements

Your shipment must arrive within six months of first entry into Argentina (or no more than three months before).

The shipper must be present in the country at the time of Customs Clearance in order to sign paperwork and provide an original passport.

If the case above is applicable, customs duty will not be payable on the shipment.

X-Ray of Shipments

All household goods shipments to Argentina must be X-rayed at the port. This is a requirement by Argentine Customs. Extensive inspections will also be carried out. The Customs Clearance time will be two weeks. Please allow a further week for delivery.

Moving to Argentina: The Process for Arriving at the Airport in Argentina

Upon arriving in Argentina, you must declare to the Customs Authorities that you are expecting a household goods shipment. You will then receive a note and stamp in your passport which will state ‘Manifesta esperar equipaje no  acompañado’. This is required in order to allow your import of household goods into the country and for Import Customs Clearance to be carried out.
