What happens when my shipment arrives in New Zealand?
When Shipping to New Zealand, upon arrival you will be contacted by the import team in order to begin the Customs and Quarantine procedure.
You will be required to provide your Move Manager with your passport(s), or a certified legible photocopy. This is so that New Zealand Customs Authorities are able to verify your arrival into New Zealand.
Exclusive Use Containers
If you have a sole use container and all Customs and Quarantine clearances have been granted, delivery can be arranged directly from the port to your new residence. In this case, an unpacking team will arrive at your home at the same time as the container arrives. The unpacking team will unload the container, unpack and unwrap your furniture and effects and remove all packing material for recycling.
Shared Container Service
When Shipping to New Zealand in a shared container, it will be routed via a bonded transitional facility for the Customs Clearance and or Quarantine inspection before individual shipments are delivered to you. Your shipment will be unloaded, unwrapped and unpacked at your new residence. Packing materials will be removed for recycling.
Additional Services
Additional services are also available in New Zealand including storage, maid / finishing service and a handyman service. Contact your Move Manager for further details.
