Methods of Transportation
Sea Freight: Full Container Service (FCL)
If you are moving the full contents of your house, it is likely that you will need a full container service. This service is available as either a 20ft container, a 40ft container or a 40ft High Cube container depending on the volume of household goods which you wish to transport. As a rough guide, the contents of a house with three bedrooms can usually fit into a 20ft container. The sailing time from the UK to Finland is 2 weeks, therefore the overall transit time for this option would be between 3 and 4 weeks.
Sea Freight: Part Container Service (LCL)
An LCL (Loose Container Load) service is the best option if you have a small shipment or not enough items to fill a full sea container. Your household effects and furniture will be packed and collected at your residence and then loaded onto a vehicle. Your LCL consignment will then be consolidated with other shipments and placed in a shipping container. Upon arrival at destination, your belongings will be delivered to you by the moving company and unloaded into your new residence. The transit time for this service would be approximately 3-5 weeks.
Collection and delivery via road service is avaliable on request. The appoximate transit time for a move from the UK to Finland via a road service is 3 – 6 weeks.
We can also arrange for your effects to be sent via air freight to your convenience. This service can also be combined with a sea freight service so that you can have your essential items as soon as you arrive in Finland.
