Meet the John Mason team: Mary Wright, International Move Manager
Mary Wright
International Move Manager
Mary is one of John Mason’s most experienced Move Managers. She began her career in the removals industry in Pickfords Removals and Storage where she worked for 18 years. Starting at the age of 16 as an office junior, she advanced from this role to work as a Move Co-ordinator in the Domestic department and then ultimately to the International Removals department. Whilst at Pickfords, Mary eventually worked in all departments including accounts and transport as it was a small branch and therefore provided a good opportunity to get involved with different areas of the company. This gave Mary a broad experience base and a full understanding of all aspects of the international moving industry.
Due to branch relocation, Mary left Pickfords and for a while toyed with the idea of changing careers and moving into a different industry. She ultimately realised however that removals was where her heart was and therefore decided to look for a role similar to her previous one.
Mary joined John Mason four years ago as an International Move Manager. She is passionate about her job and particularly enjoys speaking to clients and building relationships with agents and customers. This gives her a great deal of job satisfaction. She also particularly enjoys the international side of the industry as she finds it extremely rewarding when a customer has a successful move to another country during what must be a stressful period for them.
A career highlight for Mary was when she was selected to represent John Mason at a Unigroup UTS conference in Budapest in 2006 where she was able to network and develop relationships with international agents as well as increase her knowledge of the industry by attending business seminars.
Mary is also an enthusiastic fundraiser and participates in many charity events. She has recently completed a 6 mile night time walk for Woodlands Hospice. In her free time, Mary is a keen sports enthusiast, playing squash on a regular basis at a competitive level and also horse riding.
