46,000 house repossessions last year in the UK
The Council of Mortgage Lenders (CML) has released the latest figures with regard to house possessions in the UK last year. The number of repossessions last year was 46,000, the highest in the last 14 years.
The actual figure is in fact lower than the original forecast by CML so this suggests that the situation is improving as the housing market continues to recover.
If you are moving to the UK, re-possessed houses can often be an affordable option and are therefore always worth investigating when searching for a new home.
