Moving to Boston

Boston is a thriving city, the capital of the State of Massachusetts. If you are moving here, you will have a lot to occupy yourself with in terms of exploring the city. There are plenty of museums and public parks to enjoy such as Boston Common, a popular place for a family walk or a jog. If you are interested in museums, the Kennedy museum and the Boston Tea Party museum are also worth a visit. The Freedom Trail around the city is a must do walk to really understand the history of the city.

In general, the region of New England, as one of the first English settlements in North America, has many similarities to parts of the UK. If you are British and you are moving to Boston, you may find this comforting and it may help you settle into the area. Many of the first settlers were from Eastern England, which has had an influence on the heritage and culture of the area. It is often said that New England has very distinctive characteristics and architecture, apart from the impact of the first English settlers, the region has also experienced waves of immigration from many other countries also, including European countries and worldwide.

The climate in Boston is varied, with often harsh winters but usually long hot summers. Don’t forget the fabulous cuisine also, mainly seafood and diary based, make sure to try out the well known dishes of Clam Chowder and Apple Pie. In summary, it is a beautiful city with many things to do and leisure activities for all of the family. This is no doubt why the city is a popular expat destination.
